I had the hepatitis B vaccine in 1992 for employment as a nursing assistant. The day following the last dose, (10/5/92) I got up for work and almost passed out when I was getting into a hot shower. I backed out, sat on he toilet and waited for the spell to pass, then got back in after cooling the water down. I should have realized with the heat problems what was going on, because I had some patients with MS, but I had been so healthy and besides I was almost 40...hardly the age for MS! My health continued very well for a few years, but in late 96 I began to have dizzy spells. Again a doctor 'diagnosed' an inner ear infection even though his physician's assistant could find nothing. He gave me antibiotics, and of course the dizziness passed the next day, so I thought the antibiotics did their work. But in May of 97, I got really sick with a virus. The medical center said it was labrynthitis. My balance continued to worsen, the vertigo was unbelievable, and I began to lose the use of my left side. When I woke up the next day with double vision, my fiancé called my doctor and took me to the ER. All we could think was that I must have had a stroke, so I was immediately admitted and started on blood thinners.
They continued to test me to see what was wrong, running a CAT scan, an MRI, evoked potentials and a lumbar puncture. When the results came back, the doctor came in to inform me that 'I was kind of old for this, but I had MS'! (I was 44!) That made me wonder at the time. I had been super healthy up till then. I then spent 6 weeks in the hospital learning to walk again with a walker! When I came home again; I was doing the dishes one day. I happened to rinse them in hot water, as was my custom so they would dry quickly. But this time when I finished I got real dizzy, and before I could do anything about it, passed out! I came to sitting on the floor! (My fiancé who happened to be there at the time, eased me to the floor.) It was then I realized I had had the very same symptom the day following the last dose of the vaccine!
After getting internet access 4 months later, I saw something linking the hepatitis vaccine to MS! It was then I realized what had happened to me! In fact, my first MRI showed an older lesion which must have been the one that caused my initial symptoms! I'm amazed that it took so long to show up since others have been diagnosed with MS after just one dose! I have been in contact with many people who have now been diagnosed with MS after the vaccine, and many who have undiagnosed pain after it. Boy what I have learned about vaccines since this has happened!
So that was what happened. I have been in contact with many people who have either been diagnosed with MS or have other disabling debilitating diseases due to the Hep B vaccine. I was left on disability due to the severity of the onset of my MS. Is it any wonder? After all, it was working unknown for more than 4 years! (one woman was diagnosed at 53 with MS after having had optic neuritis many years earlier!) By the way, I was only told that I might have a sore arm after the injection. Nobody said anything about an autoimmune disease, which they knew this vaccine had the possibility of causing!
