Algiers- credible sources from the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, said that Minister Said Barkat has terminated the functions of the Director, responsible for customs clearance at the central pharmacy.
- Ms. Rahal has lost her job for refusing to sign a report of clearance of the vaccine against influenza A (H1N1) imported by the Ministry of Health, produced by the British laboratory GSK. According the same source, the reasons for refusal would be linked to expiry of the vaccine in May this year, while the vaccination has not been started yet. That would mean the loss of a large quantity of vaccine that would not be used, while the citizens refuse to be vaccinated.
This redundancy adds to a series of dismisses by the Ministry of Health against the executives who refuse to play with the health of the Algerian people, like Mrs. Touabti, head of control at the Pasteur Institute, who was dismissed after the results on the vaccine produced by GSK, and the death of laboratory rats after inoculating doses of 0.5 mg, then doses of 0.2 mg, which was considered by the department as an unforgivable mistake.
In the same context, the Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, terminated the functions of the Director of Pasteur Institute, Professor Abadi, for the delay on the importation of the vaccine against the seasonal influenza and influenza A (H1N1), and the appointment of Director of Prevention at the Department, Ismaïl Mesbah, acting director for a few days before the appointment of the Head of Department of Microbiology at Mustapha Pacha hospital, Professor Mohamed Tazir who has already served at the same post in the eighties.
