Quotes
Some sects of Hasidic Jews (Breslov) shave their heads, except
for long locks that dangle past their jaws, called
peyots, that they let grow along the side of their heads in front of their ears.
Why would they do that? The bible has no such command requiring such a
strange haircut. Hasidic Jews cite Leviticus 19:7,
which states that they should not round the corners of their
heads. That seems to be a command against the heathen tonsure pictured
above. It is not a command to let the hair in front of
the ears grow while shaving the rest of one’s head. Doing that
is directly contrary to what the Old Testament law, which states:
“Neither shall they shave their heads, nor suffer
their locks to grow long.” (Ezekiel 44:20 AV) It must have taken some
thought, but Hassidic Jews have figured out a way to both shave their
heads and at the same time let their locks grow long.
So at one time they contravene both prohibitions in Ezekiel; the
prohibition against shaving their heads and the prohibition against
letting their hair grow long. The Hasidic Jewish
peyots are yet more proof of the truth of what Jesus said: “For laying aside
the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men.” (Mark 7:8 AV) [2011] Solving the Mystery of Babylon the
Great by Edward Hendrie
My final, more general example is, if possible, even more shocking than the others. It concerns the attitude of the Hassidic movement towards non-Jews. Hassidism - a continuation (and debasement!) of Jewish mysticism - is still a living movement, with hundreds of thousands of active adherents who are fanatically devoted to their 'holy rabbis', some of whom have acquired a very considerable political influence in Israel, among the leaders of most parties and even more so in the higher echelons of the army. What, then, are the views of this movement concerning non-Jews? As an example, let us take the famous Hatanya, fundamental book of the Habbad movement, one of the most important branches of Hassidism. According to this book, all non-Jews are totally satanic creatures 'in whom there is absolutely nothing good'. Even a non-Jewish embryo is qualitatively different from a Jewish one. The very existence of a non-Jew is 'non-essential', whereas all of creation was created solely for the sake of the Jews. [2011] Solving the Mystery of Babylon the Great by Edward Hendrie
