A 10-day immunization campaign in Zimbabwe reached nearly 2
million children with measles vaccines and vitamin A supplements.
The program started out slowly, but towards the end thousands of
mothers brought their children in for the shots and the effort
was considered a success. Previous campaigns have been hampered
by reports of some religious groups discouraging their members
from being vaccinated, but there were no such incidents in this
last immunization effort.
