Govt commits $300 million more to vaccine program
One million more Australian children will receive free vaccinations
against one form of the potentially deadly meningococcal meningitis
disease.
The Federal Goverment has committed $300 million to a program to combat
the disease.
Federal Health Minister Senator Kay Patterson says more children between
the ages of one and five will now be able to receive the meningoccocal c
vaccine because further supplies have become available.
Schoolchildren between the ages of 15 and 17 will be vaccinated at
school next year.
